Dosing question?

It’s been a weird evening here and Kitten hit a 52 which I know is two points over the hypo limit but still scary since it was out of the blue. This was shortly before she was scheduled for her pm shot. I didn’t give her that dose because she was running so low but then her numbers started climbing again really quickly and she hit 299. So I gave her a little less than half a unit but it was quite a few hours later than her normal shot time. She is stable right now and I’m getting ready to go to bed but I’m wondering what I should do in the morning when I get up for work, assuming she is running normal numbers again, since I gave her the pm dose so much later than normal and now the schedule is all messed up.......

Also wondering if there is some outside factor that could’ve caused the sudden drop. She escaped out the back door this afternoon and was gone for about 4 hours. I tested her as soon as she got home and that’s when I got the lows. I used both human and pet meters to be sure the numbers were right too. Wasn’t sure if there was something she could’ve gotten into or if stress or exercise would cause that.......

Be sure to push your AM shot time back by the number of hours that you were pushed back earlier.

I see that you're fairly new here but it would be very helpful if you could update your title to include the date/kitty name/ AMPS - I'm not sure which time you're asking about - was it your PMPS that you were concerned about?

Since 90 is the lowest number for earning a reduction on SLGS you did the right thing by reducing; so the next shot will be reduced to that amount .5 and then will be a certain number of hours later - I can't tell from your SS what time you 'usually' shoot. If you can, you may want to add a column for your time of day for shooting - I added two columns; one for AM and one for PM shots because I would forget what time I shot from one day to the next if I didn't write it down!

I hope this is helpful!
