Dosing Question

I'm not giving Angel her PM shot for another couple of hours, but shortly after her shot I'll be heading off to bed myself. The joys of being a barista/coffee roaster and having to be up sometimes at 4am!

Anyways, yesterday I started a sliding scale that another member recommended to me. (@JanetNJ) I'm dosing Angel based on that scale and so far we've stuck with 3.75U and it seems to be working!

So my question is: tonight if her numbers are above 350 then obviously shoot 3.75u still. But what if they are in the 200's? Should I dose based on sliding scale or continue to shoot 3.75u because maybe this is her ideal dose?

The ideal dose isn't set in stone. It can move around so think of it more as an ideal dose range.

Yes, that is the better way to dose shorter-acting insulins like Vetsulin.

PMPS 420 even though I was supposed to dose her 4u if her PMPS number was over 400 (per sliding scale), my gut told me to give her 3.75 because of how low she got today. Bf is going to do a +6 and I'll see where she's at for AMPS.

That's fine. 4 would have been safe but 3.75 will help you sleep better and is still a good dose. Try to get some sleep.

You always have to do what you're comfortable with.

Plus, the 420 is probably a bounce because she went down to 92 today. We try our best not to react a dose based on a bounce. I hope that last part made sense. I'm re-reading it and brain is not telling me a better way of wording it
