Hi, I am finding it impossible to dose at 1.25. I have the 1/2 unit syringes but still can’t accurately and consistently get 1.25. It either closer to 1 or closer to 1.5. spreadsheet still has holes. I have done two night tests.
Trinity hasn’t grazed for the past day or so, thus her numbers are lower. I did not shoot this morning.
I must admit that I feel I can’t succeed at this. She isn’t regulating for me...
And my poor health is a major factor in caring for her. As always thank you for all advice.
Previous info found on post on Prozinc forum called dosing question.

Well as much as you don't think you are accurately drawing up that 1.25u and are questioning your health hindering caring Trinity, her numbers are a millions times better. While the not grazing may be contributing, that lack of grazing may also be because her BG has come down so well.
Overall how is Trinity? Is she doing her 5Ps. Preening, playing, purring, peeing and pooping normally?
When she eats is she eating a full meal (or perhaps just a little less)? Anything else about her behaviour that's concerning you?

She is not preening or purring. She sleeps a lot. Has an eye infection that vet says is viral so she can’t help her. She is pooping normally but pees outside the box (in a cat bed on my bed) occasionally. She does have really bad arthritis in her hips, she is on anti inflammatory. So the pee position hurts her. Vet feels this is why she sometimes goes where she shouldn’t. she sleeps in the sunroom in the morning and with her brother in a heated ortho bed the rest of the day.
She isn’t acting unwell, just geriatric... I just worry about her numbers...
Thank you for the good news that I couldn’t see on my own and for the kind words. I will remain on this dose and keep you updated.

Oh and she is ravenous at her 3 feeding times. Plan to increase her amount of syringe fed food.

Her age and arthritis may be partly responsible for the lack of preening. Did she purr before and she's stopped or has she always been the silent type?

If the arthritis is causing pain, that too can elevate BG and explain the lack of preening and possibly purring. Have you talked to the vet about some pain meds in addition to the Duralactin for the arthritis? That might help with her BG as well as the accidents outside the litter box.

Trinity hasn’t purred in awhile. She does sometimes as I stroke and feed her. She was never a big purr box, but she purrs less than before she developed arthritis. (That occurred over past 5 months).
I asked the vet for a kitty pain med and she said, “that unlike dogs, a cat’s liver can’t break down the med and it would kill Trinity.” I find it hard to believe there are no mild pain meds for cats.... anyone heard of a pain med for cats?
My vet is good but limited on technology (she doesn’t even have an ultrasound) and stubborn in her beliefs. BUT if I can present research showing something that would help my babies, she will usually give it a try.
I do believe the arthritis is painful even with duralactin or Trin would be using her box.

@MrWorfMen's Mom ….Angie has contacted me to ask me to let you (and the board) know Trinity crossed over today.

She said "My beautiful, loving, loyal trusting baby let me know it was time. I took her to the vet and she agreed. My baby of 17.5 years passed away as I cradled her in my arms. I am shattered... Just broken"
