Hello. I just joined as I am in some facebook groups and was recommended to join here as well. I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight as to what I should do now. I recently started her on prozinc insulin and since then her numbers keep going up, especially with the higher dose. I am going to do a curve tomorrow, but I am not sure what I’m doing wrong. Should I make an appointment with the vet to reevaluate her? thank you. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1q2or8UmGnIfYd-qUDzNOKhMIT3waFlrU-2ynXJzlC8s/edit

Hi Abby if you can set up your signature I can tag a prozinc user for you
If you can fill out what we call our signature that will be helpful,it's at the end of everyone's post in gray

To set up your signature which you will see is at the end of everyone's post in gray, click on your name up top and then tap on the word signature and add this information
  • Add info we need to help you:
    • Caregiver & kitty's name
    • DX: Date
    • Name of Insulin (do not include dose or frequency)
    • Name of your meter
    • Diet: "LC wet" or "dry food" or "combo"
    • Dosing: TR or SLGS or Custom (if applicable)
    • DKA or other recent health issue (if applicable)
    • Acro, IAA, or Cushings (if applicable)
    • Spreadsheet link. Please put the signature link on the bottom line of your signature information, on its own, so it is easy to find.
    • Please do not put any information about your location in the signature for security reasons. If you wish to add your country location, please add it to your profile.
Be sure to click the 'Save Changes' button at the bottom. If you need help urgently it is important we know these things at a glance. We don’t want to waste valuable time finding out information.

Take a look at mine

Add New Member and tap Save
Your spreadsheet doesn't look like the one we use ,also if you are using the Alpha Trak Meter the color coding for the last 2 cells are for using a human meter
Here is the link to our spreadsheet

@FrostD
Hi Melissa if you look at her SS does it look like ours?

Welcome!

What dose were you giving in September? Any explanation you can think of for the change in numbers? Food, illness, etc? The AlphaTrak does usually read higher but it's not usually that significant a difference.

No, I wouldn't take her back in. Ita pretty common to see high and flat numbers until you hit what we call a breakthrough dose. Just have to keep methodically increasing the dose until you break through into better numbers.

I will say that being in multiple groups, you are bound to get different opinions. Nothing wrong with that, but it can make things more confusing when just starting out so it may be easier for you to pick just one.

@Diane Tyler's Mom that is FDSGs spreadsheet. I personally don't mind since she's logging in US units anyway, but for consistency it's nice to have our format. I believe Bhooma is out of town for a week or so.
