Dosing advice needed!

I haven't given Harold insulin in 7 days as I have been out of strips (and funds) and was to scared to give any without knowing where he was.

I just tested him to give him his first shot in 7 days and he was only at 4.9 mmol, should I even give it to him? I won't be home for most the evening.

Absolutely not!! And if he's only at 4.9 after a week of no insulin, he's officially half way through his OTJ trial!

I didn't, got the same answer on facebook haha. I figured as much but wanted someone to confirm. Hopefully this sticks!

Updated with this mornings test and the one i do on my lunch break. 7.7 this a.m and then down to 5.0, 5 hours later.
That's still low enough not to give insulin right?

It’s low enough to skip but he might not be in remission. We like to see the bg under 100. Can you test again in 3-4 hours after eating? A working pancreas should bring the bg down 3-4 hours after eating.

I will try tomorrow, if I can't I will be doing a very long overdue curve on Monday to see exactly what's happening.
