You hold the syringe, but last night she dropped 130 points in just two hours on 1 unit ... With 3-4 more hours to drop. I'm willing to bet she was hypo last night.
With the range that Candi is running in at the moment, I'd strongly recommend solely using the nadir BG to determine dose, not the preshot readings. Vetsulin can be very good at yanking those PS BGs right back down again.
That higher am number could be from going too low the night before too.
So I had my boyfriend give 0.5u about 30 mins after last bg test and about 15 minutes after she ate. She ate a very good amount of food. So i'll be getting a +2 or +3 to see where she is at. Also it is about time to get another vial of insulin. The vetsulin seal was broken 10/22. I will get the vet to call in a script to chewy for the prozinc. I can't take her dipping like this with my schedule. It is getting to dangerous.
ProZinc does tend to last longer and a bit gentler than vetsulin, but you do know that the insulin is fine in the fridge for like 4 - 5 months, right? It should be good until feb-March.
I couldnt remember when you guys said. Between chewy and my vet it might take til march to get a script there tho. I had problems with getting her methimazole from chewy, they (my vet and chewy) tend to blame each other. She also had a bad nose bleed today. I'm not taking her back to get on antibiotics again and have this whole not eating thing happen again. So I have her sitting in a sunroom with a humidifier. Hoping that will help.
I usually do but this time I had to go head and since it was a small dose and I'm home and she ate a very good amount, I had to go ahead and give it to her.
If you have dry heat that could cause it. Was she sneezing? Do you suspect a respiratory infection? My vet is terrible about getting back to chewy. I found I have to call the vets office and remind them to approve it.

I keep telling the vet about it. The last time she blew a blood bubble out of her nose and the vet put her on clavamox drops and it just tore her stomach up and caused nausea. It was a mess. The vet believes it to be viral. Tonight tho she was eating and blood just started dripping into her food bowl. I had no idea where it was coming from, and it was from her nose. I have never seen it that bad. We have electric heat.

Since the vet thinks it viral they say theres nothing really they can do? I don't do air plug ins. I do candles but I've had the same brand around for years. I understand an allergy can develop at any time tho. They haven't wanted to do anything blood related except the glucose. Should I have them run a CBC? Everytime I have taken her to the vet they just examine her and tell me its viral and when I tell them I see blood they rush to put her on an antibiotic.
