Hi everyone, Mr. Kitty went back on insulin on 10/24/19 and we think we should increase .50 to .75U as his numbers haven’t moved much. It’s been 7 days of insulin after switching his small amount of daily dry from Elsey’s back to YA (long story). Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would look at swapping to one of the longer lasting insulins such as Lantus or levemir or Prozinc.
They are much better for cats.
I see you cross posted on the Vetsulin page as well and received an answer to the dose over there.

Hi, I am waiting for the vet office to call back regarding Lantus. Is PZI the same as Prozinc? Would it be better to use Lantus or PZI? Are there any advantages or disadvantages between the two? Thank you!
*edit*
I’ve been reading and researching and now understand the difference - Lantus is a depot and PZI is an in and out, which we are use to because of using Vetsulin for so long and feel comfortable with, but I just want the best insulin for my cat and it seems like Lantus for the win. Such a hard decision for me for whatever reason...I’m making myself miserable and need to stop.

Personally I like Lantus or levemir better but that is because I have used them and understand them. I have not used Prozinc.

Both are good for cats.
