Hello @Suzanne & Darcy or anyone else!
Some advice would be much appreciated. Felix was lower than usual this morning at 259 mg/ DL. We reduced his shot from 3.25 units to 3.15 units. However, we did a spot test at 6 hours post shot and were amazed to see him at 79 mg/DL, the lowest number ever. We gave him around 25 pieces of kibble and tested him at 45 min afterwards but he's at 65 mg / DL! We're rather alarmed and have given him 3 X 5ml syringes of honey and a little water. 8 minutes ago. Shall we retest in 20 minutes?

Hi, again. Felix is at 94 mg / DL now after 18 mins. But he's vomited all his food up probably because of the acidity of the honey.

Felix is now at 128 mg/ DL which is a relief! I've not been very present on the forum lately but have actually been taking part on the Facebook side of FDMB trying to put photos up giving people advice about how to test, etc.!

I'd be most grateful if someone could give me some dosage advice for tonight because of what it says on this forum about hypos:
"After a hypoglycemic episode cats may be more sensitive to insulin, so a reduction in dosage is generally required, especially considering too much insulin – whether due to dosage, inadequate food intake, or the cat’s changing insulin requirements – caused the hypoglycemic event in the first place."
So, what does this mean in practical terms? If preshot blood sugar levels are usual, should I reduce the dose to 50% of usual, for example? Thanks!
