Don't know what to do

My boy has decided today to barely eat and has runny diaarhoea. He ate fine this morning at his normal time but during the day I can't see that he's eaten hardly anything. His ears aren't hot (not that that's a sure sign of illness) but don't know what to do for the best. Do I take him to the vets even though he hates going and makes him worse or so I wait and see how he is in the morning. I can't say there's anything in particular wrong with him other than barely eaten and upset tummy. Need expert advice and everyone on here is always so helpful
 
I typically give mine 24 hour before going to a vet unless they really look bad. Do you have a thermometer so you can take his temperature?
 
Provide fresh, cool water. Do not force eating.

Consider giving 1/4 of a Pepcid AC; it may help an upset/acid stomach.
(Dissolve it in an oral syringe with some water and its pretty easy to give)
