Hi,
Today is the first time that my husband and I are doing a curve on our Annie. I thought when the shot of insulin is given that her numbers should be dropping. I have been charting it all day today. Can someone please explain to me what is happening. Any information or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Annie ate a can of fancy feast shrimp and tuna and also a can of wellness chicken. She likes to graze!! We only give her hard food when we test, but it's like 6 to 8 little pieces which are the EVO hard food until I can find a more healthy soft treat that she likes. She is fussy, I am surprised that she likes the Wellness and Fancy Feast fish and shrimp. She seems to be okay, playing, cat napping, walking around, etc. I just do not understand the numbers.

Annie is on Lantus twice a day .075 each shot.....

I checked in the chart and it is high numbers on all 0.75 U shots

But I would do another curve on her to see if it gives the same high numbers, before I decided to try raise to 1 U instead

What does the others think?

I agree with doing another spot check over the next few days to make sure there is no rebound going on. You don't have to do a full curve if you don't want to though - just a spot check around +6 or +8.

Don't get frustrated. Looks like you are doing a good job researching food, testing, using Lantus, etc. Perhaps the EVO is throwing you off a little. Maybe try Pure Bites chicken, or Liv-A-Littles fish flavors to see if your kitty will eat them. I use Pure Bites alot (huge bag on Amazon for about $28) but you can get small bags at Petco to see if Annie likes them. It is 100% chicken.

Do some spot checks at the higher number times over the next week if you can. Cats like to be mysterious too - Keep up the good work!
