Does your kitty with acromegaly take pain medicine every day? What kind? What dose? For what pain?

No but we do give adequan shots weekly instead of monthly for the boney elbows she developed. I do have Gabapentin if she seems particularly uncomfortable, but I don't give it daily or often.

The only thing Freckles gets is her regular food and tumeric. No meds of any sort. Insulin of course but that's it.

Ollie got Buprenorphine every 8 hours her last year. More for pancreatitis and abdominal mass though. Before the bupre she got gabapentin and did well on it.

Ollie weighed 11.6 - 12 pounds. The bupre was 0.15 mls (0.6 mg/ml) every 8 hrs. She could have up to 0.6 ml in 24 hrs. If needed more I would contact vet for dosage. When first scripted it was a lower concentration, don't remember what it was

Gabapentin was scripted at 25 mg every 12 hrs but it was to much so gave 12.5 mg every 12 hrs. IM who did first ultrasound said to give it every 8 hrs. And we did for a month. After awhile we were able to go back to 12 hrs. At one point she got both bupre and gab together. It was a chewable treat she would eat out of my hand. Eventually she stopped eating it herself.
