It has been a while since I've posted. I was reading my previous posts and realized that my diabetic cat's (Mister) insulin (Lantus) dose has gone up from 1 unit twice a day to 4 units twice a day :C
Is this common? Is it possible to lower his need for insulin? If so, how?
He is very healthy, bless him. He has put on some healthy weight, is very active and has so much spunk and personality that I can't believe he has been through DKA twice now.
The reason I came on here today though was that I have been increasing his dose slowly because he seems to lose weight without the increase. Today I gave him 5 units and he got a muscle spasm that affected his back and legs. His sugar went too low today and I became terrified. But we fixed it pretty quickly...
Anyway, he eats raw. He has been stable for the last I'd say maybe year and a half...
Thank you for your support and input <3
