I have give it orally.
Want to give it Sub-Q to Smokie if i can.

I've never noticed that it stung. I prefer to use it SubQ because I have a hard time giving stuff by mouth. And if the Bupe is for dental issues, definately easier to do SubQ.

Just wanted to point out here for anyone reading that it's important to verify that you've been dispensed the injectible form of Buprenex (buprenorphine) before opting to inject it.
There is a shortage of it and some clinics are dispensing a compounded form for oral use. This can NOT be injected.
As I'm sure everyone knows, the normal injectible bupe we get can be used both orally or as an injectible (even though it is labeled as injectible)....but again, not so for the compounded stuff.
Best to double check the label or with your vet to be sure.
