Does anyone use Lantus in a vial

Could you let me know how long does a vial of opened Lantus stay good. I have some in a vial that has been opened, used one time then put in a container and has not been used. I was wondering if it would still be usable.

If kept in the refrigerator, it's usually good for 4-6 months as long as it's clear and there are no floaties in it

The only real way to tell though is to watch the numbers....if they go up and there's no other explanation, it's time to suspect that the insulin has lost it's efficacy

I was just about to ask that. I use a vial too. Unfortunately I dropped and smashed one last week.

I was on my third vial. The first two vials I used lasted 8 months each approximately.

Basically there just wasn't enough insulin left to get insulin from it. When I switched to new vial each time there was no noticable difference in BG readings.

Yes, the same vial of Lantus.
I one had a vial of R insulin that lasted over 5 years
