Hello
I have been feeding raw food for about a month now, but noticed that when I started to make it myself Mya's sugars increased. She was not doing bad on comercial raw. Just want to know if anyone else has had this experience. Im thinking of just switching to low carb from the list by Janet and Binky.

What raw recipie are you using? Many people here use the one that is on Dr. Lisa's web site: http://catinfo.org/?link=makingcatfood Another good recipie is the one at http://www.catnutrition.org/recipes.html There isn't anything in either of these recipies that would cause bgs to rise. How much of a bg rise are you noticing on the raw food that you are making?

Some commerical raw foods may contain ingredients that naturally contain sugar, like fruits. These are usually towards the end of the ingredient list so may not affect bgs too much but ECID. You may want to look for a brand that doesn't contain fruits and veggies. Feline's Pride is one brand: https://www.felinespride.com
