I just got some today but have not used it yet as I am thawing some frozen as a treat perhaps to persuade Andre' into a test mode.

I tried their raw rabbit & Baxter won't eat it. I have a whole bag in my freezer. He would eat the canned rabbit.

The other day I did try a tiny piece of fresh raw chicken breast. I washed it off & he loved it. So if you are just needing it for treats try fresh raw chicken. That's if Andre doesn't like the NV.

Good Luck!

My civies eat NV frozen raw. I feed both the organic chicken and the beef. The freeze dried raw is more suitable as treats (but not as meals because it's only a supplement) because it has the same texture as freeze dried meat treats which most cats like.

Niko gets a Nature's Variety chicken medallion for a bedtime snack most nights. He absolutely loves it. There was no learning curve as he was crazy about a raw medallion the second he was introduced. He comes running to the kitchen when he hears me getting the bag out of the freezer. If I've forgotten to take it out to thaw earlier in the day, it just gets thawed in the micro at feeding time. He doesn't leave even the tiniest bit.

Every so often there is a coupon posted here for Nature's Variety and often there's a coupon for a free bag (nice size 3 pound I think) so that's how we tried it.

It's a free trial sized bag of NV raw with a store purchase of $5 or more. So buy some treats or toys and pick up a trial sized bag for free  There currently isn't a coupon for a free bag. Sometimes there is a coupon for $3 off a bag of NV raw. Right now there is $3 coupon but you have to buy a bag of dry food as well :? http://hosting.fyleio.com/14321/public/addraw_coupon2.jpg

My girls like the chicken but the rabbit is hit and miss...some days ok, other days it is just left behind. The chicken did help me transition to raw that I now make at home folllowing the dr. lisa recipe. They have been on that for months and like it. I throw in a turkey leg meat or quail and grind some duck by itself and add to the chicken for treat and different taste. I still feed canned as well just not as much now.
You might want to add a bit of tuna juice or foraflora to intice.
good luck

I just tried as of last night--2 meals now--the NV raw chicken medallions. Prior to that I had tried the Feline's Pride in 3 raw flavors--rabbit, chicken and turkey....FP sends you a free sample of 3 lbs (which is pretty awesome--gave it over 3-4 days worth of meals for 6 cats.

5 of my 6 cats loved both of these I mixed it with half regular canned, and I also sprinkled Fortiflora on it. The Fortiflora helps them to eat anything, and then you can leave it off later.

I like the NV medallions because they aren't too gross (compared to the tub of ground up raw which you scoop out. I'm a vegan so seeing actual blood is pretty disgusting and upsetting!)
