Do you adm. a Cerenia Shot like an Insulin Shot?

Bear went into a full blown Pancreatitis Flare yesterday and fortunately I was able to get him an appointment with our Vet. She gave him a Cerenia Shot and Sub-Q fluids.
Jeff (DH) took him back today for another Cerenia Shot and apparently they didn't have any Cerenia Pills in office so they sent home two shots.
How should a person give a Cerenia Shot?

Bear received his shot at the Vet's office but I had asked for some additional Cerenia Pills for this weekend, just in case Bear's nausea continues.
DH came home with shots not pills.

Thank goodness I really wasn't looking forward to giving a shot in a muscle.
I would want to see it done first. EEK!

I tried an intramuscular shot with Menace once for antibiotics following a dental. They showed me how and where to inject in her back. No way I was doing that. Tried the quads and had a very upset cat. NEVER going there again. Ended up going back for pills.

I've seen a few stories here on FDMB about members that had difficulty with intramuscular shots.

Thanks @Wendy&Neko . I will definitely do that.
Bear is doing better. :)
My challenge is to not make him feel worse with his dosing.
If you remember the first flare at the ER the Dr told me to reduce his dose by half if he wasn't eating well and I waited to reduce because I wanted him to have as much insulin as he needed.
Then he started dropping and playing with the sharks and it took a lot to move his BG.
At that point I took the Vet's advice.

Current time:
For yesterday's PM shot I reduced him from 2.5 to 1.75 and Bear's appy came up but he was in the lime green.
For his AM shot today I increased to 2u based on Bear's appetite last night.
This morning his appy went down a lot, he ate not quite 2 ounces LC the entire AM.
So not wanting a repeat of last night's lime green and now equating last night's good appetite with him going low I reduced tonight's PM to 1.5u.
I know this inconsistent dosing is not good for Bear.
What would you do?

Get a +2, he might be breaking a bounce. Do you have any slightly higher carb LC you can feed? I'd add plenty of water to get fluids in him. I might also get some ondansetron, if you don't have any in the house. You will need a script from your vet. Given we are heading into vet office closures, if US is anything like Canada over Christmas, best to have an arsenal supplied. Sometimes ondansetron works better by itself, or with Cerenia. They target different nausea receptors. Do you have buprenorphine? P'titis is painful.

That is what I thought too when I saw 287BG.
I have never seen any difference with the Ondansetron but I do have one dose left, at least given without Cerenia.
I give him a mix of 1/3 water 2/3 food but I can probably add a bit more.
I do have some bupe left.
Good grief my mind hasn't caught up to what's on my plate.
I will give him some bupe and test at +2. :)

That was Jeff which kindly did the Bupe and test, lol.
I am fixing a very late dinner.
I guess Bear isn't done bouncing.
Bear is strolling about now instead of staying in his room.
