Do more expensive syringes work better

I have been using Relion syringes for Harley. For the last couple months the batch I have creates a big bubble at the end that is hard to get rid of. I have to draw up several additional units to get rid of the bubble instead of the usual 1u. Even then, there is always a small bubble that never goes away.

Do the more expensive syringes have this problem also?

I found that the cheapest ones (GNP brand) drove me nuts. I use Monoject, which cost a little bit more, but a lot less than BDs. I order them online. I don't shop at Walmart.

I have had no problems with the BD ones I have but they are the only ones I can find with half unit markings!
Why not buy a pack of others and just try them, then you can decide if they are worth the extra cost.

We use the Relion WallyWorld ones too and yes, I have the same bubble issue with some of them. Since we're on Humulin N (LAST DAY!!!! Lantus tomorrow!) I can shoot back into the bottle which I've found helps get rid of it. I'm not sure WHAT I'll do when I find a bubble in the Lantus syringe....??

God, it took me forever to get my bubble technique down. What you do is draw a bit more insulin than you need (don't worry about wasting it, you'll be lucky if you get through the whole vial or pen). Then you flick the bubbles with your fingers to the top center, right below the needle, and release a little insulin. hopefully, the bubbles have escaped. I say hopefully because it still takes me 2 or 3 tries sometimes.

As a human diabetic, I always used BD syringes. They "feel" better.

Now, for the kitties I alternate between a box of Relion and a box of BD. Since I am using a box in 10 days, it is tough to afford the BD syringes. They are more than 2x the cost of Relion. But the kitties know the difference; they turn around and give me "that look."

In the past, I have had to draw a little bit extra to get the bubbles out. With the Relion I have now, I have to draw up 3-4 times before the big bubble is gone. Maybe it is a bad batch of needles.

I get those in some of my packages too Pattie - after about 3 unsuccessful tries, I trash that one and get another.....
