Hi,just did another curve today, and didn't know if I should drop dose down slightly by next shot..giving 1 unit presently. He started at 276 and dropped down to 51 by +4 ,then shot up. Can you take a peek at his SS. I thought his numbers were looking pretty good on the 20th,21st,and22nd( except for a 44 reading on the 20th at +3,shooting down from 169( I promptly gave him some high carb food and he was fine, I thought maybe I should have tested twice to make sure of the reading, but I didn't)Anyway when the vet saw those numbers from the 20th through 22nd,he said they were way too low and he wanted to see them between 200 and 300, and said I shouldn't be wanting to see any numbers in the green. Is that correct? anyway I was giving a nice " one fat unit" and he wanted me to stick to 1 regular unit and don't change it until I do a couple more curves and stop testing so much and just do a once a week full curve.I asked him if I should get up and do a reading during the night to see how low he is dropping around +3 or 4 ,and he said " no, the numbers won't be any different as long as the dose was the same,is that true? I am still keeping his carbs below 8 or 10,and he does not get anything during the night. All canned pates'.Another thing I wondered about, when I showed the vet that he FINIALLY had no glucose showing on his urine tests on the 19th,when he was having most of his numbers fall below 250, and that is why I thought I should be trying to keep his numbers more in the blue and green( and some low yellows) he said he was not as concerned about that as he was keeping the numbers higher. Now I was under the impression that his pancreas can't heal if he keeps going above the renal threshold. Isn't that true? please..I need some advice! P.S...The 1.00+ doses from the 17th - 22 nd. Is " one fat dose"
