Red's had diarrhea since last night. The smell is rather unbearable as well. I'll be able to see the vet in two days (Monday) but not before then.

He eats friskies paté.

Could he have eaten something bad?

Do you have any Fortiflora you can give him? That's a probiotic for cats. You can only get it from vets or online. It works well for helping reestablish the gut bacteria that he should have. It won't cure the diarrhea if there is an infection, but it might improve things some.

What happened with your vet discussion about his blood sugar, the dose and possibly switching insulins? He is extremely high.

I'd encourage you to get Ketostix and test him twice a day for ketones. Being sick + not having enough insulin are 2 of the 3 components that can cause ketones in a cat. The last component is not enough food, so keep him eating.

How is his behavior?

I don't see what he could've gotten into, but I suppose I can't say for sure that he didn't eat anything he shouldn't have. He does go outside (on a harness and leash) so that's always a possibility. I have no forti flora. I spoke to the vet this AM about the diarrhea and they said just to keep an eye on him, that it'll most likely be self-limiting and to let them know Monday morning if there were still a problem.

He's eating fine. He seems completely himself other than the diarrhea. I have ketostix and test him when I can. Tested last night most recently and it was negative.

As for the insulin I kind of chickened out so we're still with the caninsulin, just 10 U am and pm now. Speaking to them this morning I know have told them he's on the friskies and of course was told he should be on the diabetic food...ugh.

The pumpkin worked wonders for mine. I knew the source of the diarrhea with mine, the sudden switch from dry to canned. But the pumpkin was great, within about 12 hours.

They're not open tomorrow so I'm probably going to get something for him like pumpkin. I've heard like a plain cooked chicken breast with rice? I think? It's been probably 36 hours now and not getting any better. :(

Not rice - carbohydrate.
Plain pumpkin or squash maybe, or a pinch of psyllium fiber.

Something like Culturelle, or , if not dairy intolerant, a teaspoon of plain yogurt with active cultures.

Yah I realized what I said about the rice about 30 seconds after posting but it was 3 am so I left it. lol

I've purchased 100% pumpkin. He's eating on his own (wasn't sure if he would or not). Any suggestions on how much? Should I just leave some down and let him eat it as he pleases? Fingers crossed this helps him.
