Anyone else had their cat get diarrhea after surgery?
Beta had surgery wed with anesthesia and started getting diarrhea (like pudding consistency) on Thursday late afternoon. She's eating fine and seems ok otherwise.

She hasn't had this problem after other recent anesthesia (for dental and CT scan). Not sure if they gave an antibiotic during surgery. I did start a probiotic 12 days ago. She does tend to get diarrhea from antibiotics.

Could be due to stress and not anesthesia. What kind of surgery?
Beta had surgery to do biopsy on a lump on her upper back, possible injections site sarcoma. We traveled 4 hrs to see Vet specialists at univ and stayed in hotel for 2 days. Not sure it's stress because the diarrhea didn't start until a day after we got home from our trip. She does have a sensitive tummy sometimes, not affected by car ride thankfully. Thanks for reply!

And the chemicals you reacted to in the hotel. It all adds up over time but it's only been 48 hours since the surgery so just watch for now. No vomiting right?
Daniel has a thing for CJ's probiotic yogurt and my vet said it was okay in moderation, just watch the excessive flavors.

No vomiting, thank goodness! Yeah only 48 hrs since surgery, so I may be worrying for nothing. I hope so. I might have fed her too much the night after surgery, gave more than usual food because she was hungry, probably not a good idea. It was stressful for her too with the strange place and activities and smelly hotel. I might try some plain pumpkin if she's still having diarrhea tomorrow. But she doesn't like any new food at all- not even tuna. Fussy girl.

Thanks it's nice to know others understand that she's a part of the family! Biopsy said NO sarcoma, just inflammation- probably from adequan injections. Happy day for us. Now if she'd just stop cleaning her backside on my carpeting all would be good.
