Diagnosed yesterday.

Our cat Stig, who is asthmatic, was diagnosed yesterday with diabetes. We are picking up insulin today and our vet will show us how to use. We're pretty nervous.

Stig has been on Flovent inhaler for about 5 or 6 years, which he is fine with, with steroid shots every 4 months for last year.

He is our everything!

We live in AZ and hope to gain useful info from this board.

What a pretty boy, and that is so sweet how good he is about his inhaler treatment. I think he may look a bit like my Mia.

The diabetes diagnosis is scary and overwhelming, but it all becomes routine pretty quickly. You can get a lot of good advice and support here. Welcome!

Stig is adorable! What a sweet boy. Most of us started out knowing next to, or nothing about feline diabetes. Thank goodness for FDMB, the information and support here is phenomenal.
A good place to begin is to read the Getting Started and the Education sections on the Home page, then please visit the FAQs forum (HERE) for very valuable information in the Index, plus critically important Hypo information that every sugar cat parent needs to know. Knowledge is power.
It's a learning curve, no doubt, but you already have demonstrated the very deep love you have for Stig and the diabetes treatment will be another facet of the wonderful care you give him.
