Thinking I may have had a full to mostly fur shot. We started doing shots in the side of his belly instead of his scruff a few days ago, and I don't quite have it down yet. I think I may have gone all the way through the pinched skin. Does anyone else do belly shots that has some tips? There's a lot more skin around his belly, so it's more difficult to get ahold of a smaller chunk of skin and control it.
 
It does look like a fur shot. The only idea I would have is to have the vet (or groomer or yourself) shave off a tiny area of fur on his side so you can see skin as you pull it up.
 
My best guess would be that without insulin to keep his bg in check these red numbers are a bounce from the green mnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkjjjjji (Chase says hi!) numbers he's getting used to seeing and he came down because the bounce is wearing off.
 
Ahhhh, that makes sense. I didn't even consider that. I thought he was just high from the fur shot and expected him to be there through the cycle.
