Diabetic nerve pain????

Lately Skeeter has been crying a lot and loudly for no apparent reason. His hearing is good, he eats, poops and pees fine, his walk is good but his skin has been crawling. I am afraid he may have somediabetic nerve pain now. I spoke with my vet and tomorrow I am taking him in for a non-steriod injection. Vet said that we should know in 3 days if it is pain or not.

Anyone have any experience with this?
 
How is his appetite?

What time of days does he start meowing? What is he doing at the time?

And when do you see his skin crawling? All the time? Just at injection time?

He is eating normally.

He starts crying in the afternoon and then on and off all night. I try to keep him as active as i can during the day but he cries anyway.

The skin crawling is very often. Never with injection.

When I read that your kitty has 'skin crawling' I was reminded of a post that another FDMB'er (Kpassa) made a while back. So, I'm posting a link to that for you to see if it sounds similar to the problem your kitty is experiencing.

PS. Re the 'crying loudly' thing. Two of my cats have started doing this since another two of my cats died in the latter half of last year. I'm wondering if they're still grieving, but am also considering that Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome may be the cause (and am bracing myself for vet visits if things don't change soon).
But vision problems and hearing problems can also cause this. Might your kitty have any issues there..?
And increased vocalisation at night can also be an indicator of hyperthyroid problems.

Geez, our kitties do worry us, don't they....? :roll:

I'm not sure if you've had a chance to see Kpassa's post that I gave the link to, but this is from it:
