My Snuggles - I call him Nuggie-Nu was in remission for awhile and became an active diabetic again about 1 1/2 years ago. He is on Lantus. About 6 months ago, he was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. And a few weeks ago diagnosed with pancreatitis. Then a couple weeks ago, he breathing got very labored. I rushed him to the vet and that vet diagnosed him with an upper respiratory virus. Next day took him to his regular vet and she believes it is something that will become chronic. He is on a high dose of insulin (12 units), but the past few days his evening number has been low. For about a week my vet suggested different dosages according to how high/low his glucose was. Then she said give 12 all the time. Well ... I guess this is suppose to be my introduction ... not my whole story!

Hi Rocel, and welcome back to FDMB (said the relative newbie... ;))

I'm very sorry to hear about Snuggles' Dx of Cushing's, pancreatitis and a respiratory virus, too. The poor little fella really is in the wars. :-( I thought that Saoirse might have Cushing's when I took her to the vets for diagnosis because she was pulling hair from one of her sides, but the hair-pulling was related to pain from pancreatitis (took a while to confirm this). I've learned a lot here about how to help Saoirse's pancreatitis as well as how to treat her diabetes and I'm sure you will, too.

Love your pet name for Snuggles! :) I've got several for Saoirse, too. I look forward to reading more of your story, and maybe sharing some things that helped Saoirse with the pancreatitis symptoms.
