Diabetic Burmese Demostenes

Hi all, I recently diagnosed my 10 year old burmese, Demostenes, with diabetes. He is North American born so I was just curious if there were any other burmese owners out there with this experience. This is definately NOT because I have a preference for breeds, but rather their genetic disposition to the disease and wanted to share ideas of underlying causes. I am also looking for support and to share stories with all :)

This is the first I've heard of a specific breed more prone to diabetes. Regardless, you have come to a great place for support for Demonstenes and YOU :)
 
No experience with Burmese, but I wanted to say Welcome!

Please browse around, and post on the Main Health forum for specific questions. You will learn an awful lot just by reading other people's posts and their answers even if you have no questions at this time.
