I put my cat on Primal freeze dried nuggets as per my holistic doctors advice. I think the ingredients detox the liver because Stella and chewy did not work. Primal food mixed with a little bit of tiki cat mackerel and sardine calamari consomme sprinkled with Pro Plan fortiflora probiotic. Worth a try. See the ingredient! It is low in fiber so the tiki cat human grade food helps the poop. He prefers it dry mixed in the calamari and I sneak in a little water to that sauce. Follow the primal website for directions on how to feed. The freeze-dried nugget has a short lifespan but my cat eats it fast. I have not tried their products besides freeze-drying nugget but they will have the same shared ingredients. My cat also developed the rabbit foot walk and I believe the B vitamin as well as the B vitamin in the Primal food cured him of that also. Just our story wanted to get it out there.

I want to make a very strong point. There is no "cure" for diabetes. Diabetes is caused by the beta cells of the pancreas no longer producing endogenous insulin (i.e., these are the cells that manufacture and excrete insulin). It has nothing to do with "detoxing the liver. For cats that do go into remission, they are diet controlled diabetics. Their FD is not cured. Just a a point, human diabetes has been around and researched for a very long time. Feline diabetes has been researched for quite some time. Between the two, if there was a cure, I strongly suspect it would have been discovered by now.

The original poster has no spreadsheet and there is no means of knowing if this is legitimate. The foods mentioned are ones we are all familiar with. However, I do not want anyone to rest their hopes on a miraculous "cure" which may be the original poster's results from putting their cat on a low carb diet.

And again the "rabbit foot walk" is likely neuropathy. Vitamin B may or may not help. Methylcobalamin, which is one form of vitamin B12, does have positive effects for treating diabetic neuropathy especially if the kitty's BG numbers are better regulated. Giving a cat a general B vitamin (since there are a lot of B vitamins), may not have the desired effect.

Sorry to do the debunking but this post is not wholly accurate.

Diabetic cats that no longer need insulin are considered in remission like a cancer patient. It doesn't mean that in the future the diabetes will not come back and testing will still need to be done routinely to ensure the BG numbers stay level and don't increase. Track your cat's progress and keep feeding a very low carb diet. Read every label of canned food to ensure they haven't added vegetables, pea starch potatoes and other items that add carbohydrates. The list they have provided on here is very valuable when you're searching for the lowest carb foods. I hope your kitty is in remission and stays that way. I know I would like for mine to be in the remission or cured if that was possible.

Keep studying and learning all you can about it in the event your kitty cat relapses.

Erm, I don't think anyone's being grumpy. A lot of people come here for advice and there are some extremely knowledgeable people who post. They just want to make sure no-one is misled, since every cat is different.

It's great that your cat has been in remission for so long. My cat was diagnosed just last month, so we are still learning.

Despite my doctor's raised eyebrows I love my chiropractor, my story about hemorrhoids and Witch Hazel (it's an astringent) doesn't belong here, my neurological adventure is not over but I'm a better person for it. It's not magic beans, it's science. I try to keep an open mind but above all be rational.
Remission is not defined as a cure, they are two entirely different things. We all hope for and want the best for our cats.
