Diabetes and Chronic Renal Failure==Epakitin OK?

Does anyone know whether using Epakitin for phosphorous control with my diabetic /CRF kitty will raise his blood glucose since it contains lactose as it's base?

Epakitin is a week phosphorous binder. Aluminium hydroxide is beter.

Epakitin also binds uremic toxins, so I went with that to start. I'll probably be adding aluminum if his tests show it's not binding the phosphorous adequately. We were worried about aluminum toxicity....I'll read your link to learn more. Thanks.

Squeaker was also CRF, I used ALOH (rather high doses) and there were no issues with aluminum toxicity.
