Hi, I am wondering if anybody has dealt with allergies and diabetes and how you went about that with a diet. I am finding almost all foods have some sort of chicken something in them. :( Did you spend the 400 or 500 and do the allergy test and if so was it helpful? I have heard mixed review from it. Did you talk to a specialist about diet or did you figure it out on your own or with a regular vet? Thanks!

Never did do an allergy test, though we did have a member recently get results from Heska testing. My vet said there weren't many good ones out there. I tried feeding just one protein at a time and see how it went. You have to do a lot of label reading, but there are quite a few without chicken. Another alternative is raw food, or making your own with a premix. My vet helped me by suggesting a protein to try, but not actual brands or products.

Wow interesting!

I’ve had to eliminate chicken, pork, beef, and turkey. Fed duck for 1 1/2 years and then new type of skin allergy. Rabbit was working but mine was losing weight so switched to venison. Added egg yoke and allergies back or just coincidence? Eliminated it and almost gone I think so will see if it returns. Be diligent with reading labels. I bought a food thinking it was one protein and read the label only to find out it also contained chicken. :banghead:
