I started this with Fred and it works! He likes turkey bacon, natural turkey meat and FF classics. I give him a bite. Pull up the scruff. Give him another bite. Pull up scruff, poke with capped syringe. Give a bite. Pull up scruff, give injection! He now sees me coming, with the food and the needle and doesn't run! Doesn't growl! Yay!

Hi Jamye,
The 'Whatever he needs, whenever he needs it' means two things. Firstly, he's on sliding scale dosage so the dose varies according to his preshot level (he's on a PZI insulin which can work OK with sliding scale). Secondly, he has a sputtering pancreas that works sometimes but not others. That means that he may get a shot twice a day, or just once a day. Or sometimes, in the warm weather, he will go up to 3 days on one shot. So, he gets a shot whenever his blood glucose is high enough and is definitely rising, but the timing of that may vary enormously! :)
