Dental question

Hi everyone! I have made an appointment at a new vet for Rocky on the 20th, I asked my old vet the last time I took him in to look at his teeth. They looked and saw some gum issues on one side , however they made no recommendations. I am going to inquire about a cleaning for him and wondered if there are any special considerations when the cat is diabetic. Is it safe? He is exhibiting some bad breath and yellowing of his teeth as well and would like them cleaned. Any thoughts?

My cat had had three dentals while diabetic. No problems with the procedure.

The dental may help improve his glucose readings if he has any infection. Since the vet should do bloodwork before they do the dental, as long as they don't find any issues, he should be fine.
