My question is about learning to scrap tartar off my Luke's teeth.
I have used the pet toothbrush & paste. He let's me do anything to him so I want to try this on my own.
I have tried scraping the tartar with my fingernail but nothing is coming off.

Do you have any suggestions for a tool that I could use that would be safe for his teeth & also not harm him in any way should he jerk around during the scraping?

    Thanks in Advance!

P.S. I know my vet could do this & did suggest it for another cat of mine but since he is diabetic & stresses about going to the vet. Also not having him under any sedation would always be best.

Removing such external tartar really does no good. You have to go below the gum line to do a good job but that requires anesthesia.
