I have been contacting Vets around town to see who will follow what was suggested, how does this place sound?
Hi Nicole,
We would love to meet both Sadi & Baby. Here is the information you requested,
Our routine feline dental cost is approx $266.00
This includes: Preanesthetic exam, Preanesthetic bloodwork CBC & 6 slide Chemistry testing- ALKP, ALT, BUN, Creatinine, Glucose, Total Protein. We do this in clinic the morning of the procedure. Both of your kitties are in the senior category so we do recommend, but don't require an additional 6 slide chemistry panel that also tests for Albumin, Total Bilirubin, Phosphorus, Amylase, Cholesterol & Calcium at an additional $18.50.
IV catheter's are placed with all anesthetic procedures and we give IV fluids during the dental procedure.
We use an IV sedation with Ketamine/Valium then maintain sedation with Isoflurane gas. (we do not use any of the recalled Ketamine)
We monitor all sedations with a machine that checks pulse oximeter, heart rate and blood pressure & we have a Technician who also monitors frequently with a stethoscope to take every precaution that your pet handles anesthesia well.
We do not have a portable dental x-ray but can take x-rays on our standard x-ray machine during sedation if it is warranted or requested for a problem tooth. The additional cost is approx $120.00 depending on how many x-rays we need to take.
We only use pain medication, preferably Buprenex, only if there are extractions. (This is an additional charge)
Antibiotics are administered as needed on a case by case situation. (This is an additional charge)
During and after sedation your pet's body temperature is kept steady with warm towel.
We do apply a barrier called Oravet after cleaning that helps prevent tartar build up (this is included in all dentals)
Extractions are additional depending on the tooth extracted and if the Doctor needs to use a drill or suture.
Hopefully I have answered all your questions. Feel free to contact our office at (913) 345-8147 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
