Hi all hope you and you little furs have a nice day.

I do not think that things is going ok with Meme:(.

I was happy with yesterday between ps numbers, it is improving slowly but again today BG does not come down after pm shot.

I have no idea what is going on and thought she will settle down after few days but not. I know that i have to be patient but just i can not and keep thinking why her BG is not going down.

I have to wait for her next appointment and hope her Vet will not refuse to do dental cleaning and extraction because of that. She told me last time that she wants to see her stabilized and better without insulin to feel safe to do the dental.

It’s only one cycle. There could have been an issue with absorption.....or any other number of variables. Try not to focus on one cycle but on trends.

:):):)

It could be fur shot as i felt but hope not:mad:. I am just a super woooorrry Mama :oops::oops: and always rush things ( bad habit:rolleyes:).

I would like to ask about pancreatitis since my vet thought that Meme had mild one and that what caused her diabetes . I know that it could flare up any time, so if a cat went into remission can that take her out of it everytime it flared up!!!

It’s possible and depends on the severity. Sometimes it’s so mild that caregivers might not even be aware they have it.

Was a test done for pancreatitis...or an ultrasound?

Will my Vet told me it is hard to diagnose without the symtoms, since Meme does not have those symtoms only the nausea she said if that happened again we can do the test and the ultrasound.

Can i ask for the test anyway or as she said it is hard to diagnose it sometimes if it is very mild??

I don’t know where you live but the test in US and Canada is called the specfPL. If they don’t have the specific test doe it where you lie, it can also be diagnosed by ultrasound.

Not all diabetic cats become that way due to pancreatitis. My Gracie never had it in 5-1/2 years of being diabetic.

I live in Bahrain ( far away :D). The clinic here usually send the blood test to UK if they do not have a specific one at their clinic. I will ask her next time about that test.
