yesterday : viewtopic.php?f=9&t=110149

So yesterday she seemed to be sliding down off her bounce very nicely, and I was really pleased : PMPS was 151. Now she has jumped up big time, in a short period of time.

Can someone please look at her numbers and see if they can help me figure out what to do here? I still feel like she is bouncing, and that her liver is panicking, but what do you do about it? And yes, I will be home today and will give her tests, but at her high level right now i suspect today, at least in the next 12 hours will be a carbon copy of yesterday unless i change something.

I am posting now, with a PM+11 number to give the board some time to respond. Her shot is technically due in 30 mins, but I can stall if i need to.

ADDED to this post:

AMPS is 418. I am thinking you are going to tell me to ignore the high bounces, concentrate on finding out what her nadirs are and then decide from there???

Re: Dec 18 Sammy PM+8 133, PM+11 409 AMPS 418 - dose change?

Sammy does love her trampoline. :-x :-x It does seem like she is bouncing from those nice blues. I am hesitant to recommend a dose increase, given those blues yesterday. So pull on those patience pants, unless someone with more experience recommends something different.

Linda,
I would guess, but don't know for sure, that sometime last night in between those two blue numbers Sam dropped into green numbers. And the y low enough to cause another bounce.
I would stick with the current dose, and try to catch the lows.
They may not happen this cycle. It looks like Sam takes longer than a cycle or two to clear a bounce.

Probably not what you were hoping to hear...

I tried so hard to stay awake after the +8 cause I knew she was "busy", but I fell asleep sitting up in the chair. The meds I am on for my back issues make this so much harder.

I have just told Sammy that she may do what she likes, but all I ask is that she have her low times in the daytime, please. She is like a baby with her days and nights mixed up.

Sigh.

Thanks.

Hopefully Sammy will listen and agree to your request!

her numbers today say to me that she's clearing the bounce. Look at that slide down from amps to +9 (most recent # on the ss) - just constant reduction. So one thing for you to look for at pmps tonight is that you don't want to see more sliding from now til then. if she keeps going down as she clears the bounce, that's what we call a dropping number. the trouble with shooting a dropping number is if it hasn't hit bottom yet.

if you see numbers continuing to drop at pmps, please don't feed her and test every 15-20 minutes or so, and the moment they begin to rise, THEN shoot. we just want her to hit bottom before you shoot.

we understand about the difficulty in night testing for people who have to take meds at night. you're not the first person with that problem!! you just do the best you can. one good thing to do is to have food out for Sammy at night so that if she goes low she can get to food. many cats will eat when they feel their BGs are low. i don't know if Sammy is one, but it's a little bit of insurance for you that's worth doing when you are having trouble monitoring her.

She was 140. I shot, knowing she might still be sliding but i am sitting up with her. I set an alarm to wake me in an hour if i go to sleep, and i didnt take meds. Will update ss.
