Hi Everyone! I know it's been a long time since Spot opened up a condo. All in all, Spot is doing super. His bg's are doing good....between 70's and 130. Not sure if the higher ones are from him finding some illegal goodies or stress since GeeCee is now a permanent fixture in the household and at times thinks it's his God given right to antagonize the poor boy. Spot's chin has cleared up wonderfully and all his fur has grown back, so he no longer looks funny. He is enjoying life and lounging around the house. Spot is so loving and sweet. He has once again taken to sleeping on my left side and most of the time during awake times and times I am sitting in my chair, he is enjoying sleeping on my lap or on the arm of my chair.
Last week I took him in for a dental. You know the drill, no food or water after midnight....Spot does not agree with that drill and was very verbal about not being able to have his snacks in the timed feeder or his breakfast in the morning. He was also pretty mad about having to go to the vet in his carrier since he is not aloud to walk about freely in my moms car (mine is out of commission at the moment). We arrived at the vet at 7 am and I left him with a kiss to his head. I called the vet around noon to see how he was doing and they told me that he hadn't gone in for the procedure yet. At 2:30 pm they called me and let me know that they would not be doing his dental because there were some concerns with his blood test....his platelet count was low and the noticed that when they took his blood for the test he took longer to clot than usual and that he bruised easy. They did the test twice and no change in the platelet count. So no dental. However, this has now opened up a new can of worms. During my conversation with the vet, they mentioned maybe an odd test, maybe an infection in his bones. Cancer and leukemia were also brought up. Gosh, was that hard to just type........
My heart sunk...no, my brain was telling me, no, this can't be, it's nothing.
Spot will be going back on Wednesday to get another test, this one more in depth and they will send it out to a specialist instead of just looking at it in house. My brain is still stuck on "it's nothing" and there are nothing but positive thoughts at this time. There's enough time to think of other things after the results of the test.
So, with that in mind, I would really appreciate nothing but good, positive thoughts for my Spot. He will be ok, He will be fine. He will continue to be the happy and loving kitty he is now.
I am attaching the copy of his lab results in case anyone would like to see.
Well, gotta run....Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but there is no rest for the wicked! I hope everyone has a great day!
