Dealing with a fur shot question...

At +6 today, Pumbaa is already at 451. He kept dancing around the feeding table this morning when I was trying to dose him, and I'm sure he got a fur shot.

With his numbers the way they are, and not wanting to lose time getting the shed filled, and not wanting him to go back up into the black numbers, do you ever give a mini-dose after a fur shot?

I tried searching for "fur shot" here, but came up with too many "fur" results to go through them all.

I'm getting stressed by Pumbaa's very high numbers. He had better numbers before he went on the Lantus. :(

The real problem with a fur shot is that you don't know for sure how much made it "in" and how much didn't. I believe the answer to the question about giving a mini-dose mid-cycle is "no", but I have asked someone well versed in Lantus to chime in.

Suze,
You basically have to write it off as a "learning experience" and regroup and shoot the normal amount at the next regularly scheduled shot time...
I'm sure an experienced L user will drop by and explain it better than I can before then.

carl's right - you want to just regroup at the next shot time. btw, you can just edit your subject line in your regular post in Lantus TR forum and ask questions like this too. i'll go look at pumbaa's ss and see if i can offer any ideas to help. i'll post in your TR condo though. just cuz that's where i'm hanging out watching ella at the moment. :YMHUG:
