Hi all. This is Ennis, AKA Ennis93 (born in 1993), the Diabetic Cat in Need (DCIN) Fundraising Spokescat and the King of Grumpy.

If don't follow DCIN on its blog or Facebook, you probably don't know why I am now the fundraisiing spokescat. You can read about that here.

I am trying to raise $2,000 for Diabetic Cats in Need by the end of July. Information about that is here. Since July 9, I've only raised $380.71. That's why I had my Mom ask Rebecca whether I could post about my fundraiser here on FDMB. And Rebecca said yes, and called my Mom a peach for asking. I thought that was nice of Rebecca.

Part of this fundraiser is a on-line sale of lia sophia jewelry. Our friend Traci, who saved Oliver so that Gayle could adopt him, is the lia sophia advisor who is helping with this jewelry party. If you want to look at the lia sophia jewelry, take this link. When it asks for the host's name, that's my Mom, Venita Wood. If you use my Mom as the host, half of the profits from anything you buy go to DCIN.

Every few days, courtesy of brilliant jewelry selections made and photos taken by Deb415, I model some of the lia sophia jewelry. Today's photo is below. I am sporting several lia sophia charms in my Fu Manchu whiskers.

DCIN supports diabetic cats in their original and adoptive homes, rehomes unwanted diabetic cats, and helps to educate caregivers on the appropriate treatment of diabetic cats. It is through cash donations by caring people like you that my Mom, Tucker's Mom Jennifer, and many others are able to do what they do to help diabetic cats get treatment and get healthy. Many of those cats have Moms and Dads who are on this Board, some of them brought here by DCIN's efforts.

Sometimes, DCIN even saves the lives of diabetic cats, like those whose mean people take them to a shelter after 12 or so years of unconditional love, just because they are diabetic. The shelter people don't think diabetic cats can be treated in shelters or that they can be adopted, so they want to kill them. My Mom, Jennifer, and many others help shelters understand that they can treat and adopt out diabetic cats. DCIN just saved Spon, who is now named Smokey and living with Bouncer's Mom Marty and her two other cats, Ruthie (who DCIN and Marty also saved from a shelter death) and Smokey.

Please help me with a cash donation to DCIN if you can. Even $5 advances that ticker. Donations are tax deductible. Instructions to donate to the Summer Fundraiser are on this page. If you want to become a sponsor of DCIN, donating some amount every month to DCIN's general fund, there is a PayPal button, which is my picture, on this page.

Anything donated in July goes towards the Summer Fundraiser, even if you say it is for a specific cat.

Thank you to those who already have donated. And thank you to those who can't afford to donate at this time, but who wish me well in my effort to raise what DCIN needs to operate until Mel (MommaOfMuse) kicks off her DCIN Fall Fundraiser. Mel is making a digital cookbook with delicious recipes and pictures of cats in the kitchen.

Mel is helping DCIN with the cookbook because DCIN helped Mel to adopt two diabetic cats from certain death--Musette and Lord Maxwell.

Thank you, and good night!!

bump! ;-) And I put a link to your blog on my FB page when I was done!
Cedric says thanks for your efforts!

Yawn...I was sleeping and Mom told me that people wanted an update. I received three donations yesterday, and the ticker is now up to $551.71. More than 25% of the way to my goal of $2,000. Thank you, so very very much.

Cedric, thanks for your help. Is your Mom a Phillies fan? So is my Dad. That why my Mom and me and the other cats get to watch movies almost every night from April 1 into October.

I wanted to give y'all a sneak peek of the lia sophia picture I am putting on the DCIN Facebook page today. It'll be later, after I finish my extra-long morning nap.

Ennis: my mommy is a hockey fan first, baseball fan 2nd. She says she started going to hockey games with my pop-pop in 1973. She says she has gone to lots of games at the Vet and only a couple at CBP, since she moved to FL the year it opened. I think she has a photo of me with some Phillies stuff around somewhere. Her Phanatic from cira 1979 sits out and stares at me from the shelf in the closet - she won't let me "play" with it. I will ask her about posting that photo.

Cool Cedrick, I would like to see an ancient Phanatic. I will get my Mom to take a picture of my Dad's ancient Phillies baseball coin bank. I am named after Del Ennis, one of the 1950s whiz kids.

Anyway, for those not Phillies fans (Elisa in Clearwater is one too, did you know?), here is today's picture of lia sophia jewelry. SImple pieces and so Southwest.

Bump.

The ladies and gentlemen of DCIN have been very busy this past week. Nanner went home over the weekend, Paisley and Minuit are going home today, Mom mailed three care packages yesterday and has another going out today, and we lost dear Mask to a systemic infection and organ failure at the ER vet on Saturday. A diabetic cat that needs a new home comes up almost every day.

My Summer Fundraiser is not going as well as I hoped it would. I targeted $2,000, but have yet to break $900. I only have 6 more days to make my target.

Can you help, either by donating or by sending best wishes for success?

Thanks. S/Ennis93, the DCIN Fundraising Spokescat.

PS, visit DCIN on Facebook to see pictures of me modeling lia sophia jewelry.

Ennis:
My mom said to tell you that she has put a link on her FB page again to your fundraiser. She only has 114 friends, but she said if everyone donanted $5 each, that would net you more than $500. Wishful thinking, i know, but maybe some will listen, especially those with pets.

mommy found that photo of my & her Phillie stuff (no Phanatic tho) but said to tell you she's at work right now and can't get interent access on her lap top for some reason. she says she will have to try to upload it from the lap tonight when she gets home.

I think I know why she's being so nice to that stray cat that's been haning out on my porch. He looks like YOU!

Chow~

Cool Phillis stuff. Me and my Mom tried to find my Dad's old Phillies coin bank, but we don't see it nowhere. I hope Dad didn't sell it off cause my Mom really likes it. So I had Mom take a picshure of my Dad's Del Ennis signed baseball from 1953. My Dad was just 12 when his Dad took him onto the field to get the ball signed. Baseball players were more friendly back then.

Thanks to everyone contributing to my DCIN fundraiser, and "sharing" on Facebook, and bumping this up, and sending good vines (even though I thought those were tall, twirly plants). I am almost at $1,000, but only have today and four more days to get to $2,000. I'm worried, but that doesn't keep me from sleeping.

Chow to you too, Cedric. Does that mean you're gonna have lunch soon too?
