Albert needs a furever home; check out his blog at http://fdmb-cin.blogspot.com/2012/04/albert.html

Last night I gave him .5u of ProZinc with a low 300s PS. He had a lovely tuna dinner which he happily devoured, but other than that I haven't been able to get him to eat much canned food. His BG today has been around 130. He didn't eat his b-fast, but I got him to eat some dinner by mixing tuna juice in with some FF. I ordered some FortiFlora from Amazon which I've read on here is helpful in transitioning cats to eat wet food. His numbers are great when he doesn't have anything carb-y. I still would like to see his numbers a little lower, though. He's settling in well and has met civvies Spirit and Bingley (they barged in after me on different occasions) and Spirit seems to like him. Little Bingley is jealous of him though. Albert really isn't ready for introductions yet so I booted them out.

Albert is able to get up and down from the bed, but he prefers to sleep on a pet bed on the floor. He seems to be walking a little better each day. He is such a sweetheart. He puts up with all my poking and he purrs for me afterwards! And when he settles down in his pet bed he likes to knead.

I'm not sure if he was an only cat before, but I think he would do alright with other cats. He's very, very mellow, and if Spirit thinks he's ok, then that's a wonderful sign!

I'll post more updates soon.

Heather,

What a great job you have been doing with Albert and thank you for taking him in. Hope he gets more comfortable and keeps eating. Its probably very hard for him in a new home. I can`t imagine what he must be thinking and trying to get used to everything new. Thanks for what your doing.

Glad to hear he is getting along better and settling in. The lower #'s will help the neuropathy but additional methyl B12 will speed things up....or are you already giving some to him?

Forti Flora works great for any of mine that don't want to eat. I also use crushed freeze dried chicken livers sprinkled on top and they go nuts. Sometimes I give FF Flaked Tuna & Shrimp in place of regular tuna because it at least has taurine in it....

He sure sounds like a sweetie!

Venita is sending me some.

Thank you for all the food suggestions. I will try them.

He is a sweetie!

Albert just looks sooo cute!
I sure wish I did not have to pay lots for taxes, civvie Slappy did not just have surgery and sugar Bean is not doing a dental in the next 2 months! Where is my money tree??
I will so try to donate some to this baby boy!
Thanks to the new adopted mommabean for her kindness and love!
