Hi.........

Once again I'd really like to say THANKS to everyone who followed Davidson's journey since his DX Jan 15h........3 months later he's OTJ and his Trial went well with all numbers in the GREEN!!!

So - don't despair there and I believe if you follow the protocol, test often and learn your cat, that you too may be able to reach remission.

I didn't have to test for another 4 days, but I just wanted to see and make sure Davidson numbers were still good...........

+8.5 73

So - everyone out there, where ever you are located - have faith and know that Davidson was where you were 3.5 months ago and now in remission!!! You can be next.................

Everyone, Davidsons spreadsheet is a good example of a best practice. Three keys were in place..

1. Good insulin like lantus

2. Home testing- hes I know it looks like a lot. She could have done less testing and achieved the same result but it allowed her to know exactly what was going on. I think 4 tests a day are a minimum. But more if the cat is dropping or looks like will drop low. Remember dropping under 50 is a dose decrease and a closer step to remission and she didn't want to miss an opportunity to decrease!

3. Strict change of diet to a low carb wet and low carb treats.. Important not to do on its own, you must be home testing first.

You can see how the Chart went green as she hit the ideal dose. Depending on your cat, many cats will bounce at this point. Davidson didn't really do that... Except Maybe feb 1 and the 3rd when he hit green and then went to pink later. But the bounce didn't last long.
