Dasuquin any side effects?

I am going to start giving my sugar Kitty Dasuquin. I just want to reconfirm that it is safe for diabetics and are there any side effects? Kitty is 15.5 and has high kidney values, so I want to be sure I cover my basis before administering.

If it is similar to Cosequin, then you should not have any problems. My vet prescribed Cosequin for Witn and she had both diabetes and CRF. It never seemed to affect either.

Both my OTJ cat and my civvie cat have taken Dasquin daily for years. Neither have suffered any side effects. Jake is 19 years old and Boomer is 12-1/2 years old.

Zoe took it for a couple of years, until she started to get an upset tummy from it.....she wouldn't eat her food with it mixed in and when she did eat it, she would lay around like she didn't feel good. She did really well on it and it really helped her hips, she was able to jump on the kitchen counter when was taking it. :roll:

My Taz was the same as Zoe - she did really well on it and was flying around the house like she was 5 years younger, but got to the point where she wouldn't eat the food if it was in there so we weren't on it long enough to notice any side effects besides refusing to eat and some stomach upset.
