Darwin's Intelligent Design Cat food

Hi Elise,

I have been using Darwin's for about 3 months now (thanks to the recommendation from @Madrona and Leda) and I am very impressed with the company and overall quality of the food. It's shipped properly and arrives in a prompt manner. I think it's a little high than the ideal Phosphorus for a CKD cat, at least when I did/saw some other calculations, but none of my cats have CKD. It comes in little vacuum sealed packs that make it easy to thaw 8oz minimum at a time. It is overall cheaper than Radcat and Primal premades, I found - and I like that it is designed for an obligate carnivore, without any extra fruits or vegetables.

However, with a 3 cat household, and a 75 pound dog, I decided to start making my own to be more cost efficient. In addition, Carter is having trouble digesting bone so he will need to have a homemade batch made for him with ground eggshell instead of ground bone, or with EZ Complete premix.

Thanks Érica. Max is not on a renal diet. I use a binder instead so this would be lower than the around 1.04% I think. The binder is causing more constipation but I'm sure he will still need it. I have to try the EZ Complete as well. He's just been doing so poorly I've been hesitant to make changes.

I will cook whatever he gets as I won't risk going raw.
