Daisy ate ok last night, and was given the meds. I noticed that she's been drooling, especially this morning, and I'm not sure if that's due to the Promethazine, or the Prednisolone, or a combination of both. I only hope that it'll stop on it's own.

I called the vet's office this morning as I was in a panic that she wasn't eating on her own. I was asked if I was force feeding her, and I told them no. The vet had told me that if she wasn't eating on her own, then to do that to get something down her throat. So, I did at around 8:10, and completed it about 8:30, which was given a little at a time so that she could swallow it. The food that I did try was the Royal Canin Recovery RS that the vet suggested. The amount that was given to Daisy was about 5 ml, and I had mixed it with a quite a bit of water.

My question(s) is(are) this(these): How much food should I mix? How much water should I mix with it? How much food should I give her with each feeding? How often should I feed her?

Thank you. This is the first time that I've ever had to force feed a kitty. I want her to get better.

I've been giving J.D. some IAMS Maximum Calorie as a kind of supplement, to get his calorie intake up. I think there are something like 333 calories in a 5oz can, so I have been giving him about 1/4 can or about 83 calories extra a day (a FF can is around 90 calories, I think). One day he didn't eat much at all, and I gave him 1/2 can of MaxCal which would be equivalent to 166 calories or about 1 and 3/4 cans of FF. I think you need to find out how many calories are in the can and decide from there how many calories you want Daisy to have per day, and make that total your goal for the day.
I just put enough water in to make the consistancy I need to syringe.

I hope this helps.
