Dainty is starting to get irritated

I thought that we had worked out a routine. Every morning and evening she would get a lovely bowl of wet food and a tiny pinch on the back. This worked the first two times. She would have her head in the bowl, tense up when she felt me moving around on her back, but would stay still long enough for me to dose her. This last time, she kept moving around the bowl to avoid me. Finally I had the perfect chance to inject her, I gave her the shot and got a hiss in response. Does anyone else have a cat that doesn't take their injections well...any ideas?

Just a couple of questions as the answers will help others to help you.
What insulin are you giving.
What is the dose and the times of the shots.
What are you feeding now.
You mentioned home testing - can you give us some of the BG numbers from your testing.
Can you describe your method of giving the shots, exactly, along with the location of the shots.
There are videos you can watch that shows how to give the shots in a way that will not result in your cat being upset.

There are some locations that my cats do NOT like getting shots so it could be as simple as the angle at which you are shooting or just the location.

Dainty get's two units of Prozinc twice a day, once at 9am and the other at 9pm. She is eating wet Hill's M/D. I am feeding her right after giving her the shots as a sort of rewards program.Her BG tends stay within the high 100's range. As for where, I got the vet to shave a small patch of fur just past her shoulder blades. I use my left hand to pinch up a lot of skin and then with my right hand I push in the needle horizontally through the flappiest part of the triangle and then push down on the plunger. Then she gets pats and food.

My vet also did this for me, but Cattro HATES having her injection anywhere but the scruff. I know it's not ideal, but she gets so upset and yet is so good about daily testing etc, that I don't push it with her. I figure it must hurt because months and months later, if I so much as try lift some skin in that area she lets me have it! Flanks, etc don't work for her either.
