Dabey lantus curve now at 70

He is back up to 70. I will keep testing, but at what score would he need to be before giving anymore insulin?

We usually tell newbies not to shoot under 200 but to wait 20-30 minutes, without feeding, and see if it has gone up. So 70 is much too low. When is the 70 in the cycle? How many hours after the shot?
 
So you wouldn't be giving a shot until 9:30 tonight. Continue to get numbers and get advice before you shoot. The 23 has certainly earned him a lower dose!
 
actually, if you gave the shot this morning at 6:30am, you'd be shooting again at 6:30pm tonight. Can you get his number at 6pm and post here... we'll go from there!
 
talked to Bj and will keep testing tonite but recommends not giving any insulin tonite. will lower dose when he needs insulin. He was 75 at 6:30

Kathy, I give J.D. his shot at 6:00am EST, so will be around tomorrow morning for you.
I will look for your post with Dabey's BG numbers tomorrow morning, and will help you to decide on a new dose, okay?
