cyst question

[Marci and Buddy]

About 6 months ago noticed a small(pea size ) bump near Buddy's shoulder.
Past few weeks i see it has gotten abit bigger, and he's now bites it, so it's all red.
Any suggestions as to how i should go about treating it? I'm thinking it's just a cyst that older (17) cats get,
but it may be infected, so I put hydrogen peroxide on it.

I would say a vet visit is in order. Could be a cyst that need draining or could be something worse.

vet saw it 2 months ago and said it was nothing-not reddish then, though-
guess I'll have to take him again. thanks.

If he is biting at it it might get infected, should have the vet take a look.

My 9 year old civvie, Tux, has another, small (lentil-sized), hairless, skin-colored bump on her tail. She has had 2 similar bumps on her eyelid. When each of those were removed, they were mast cell tumors. This one is coming out Wednesday because it looks the same. Only a pathology report on it will tell for certain.

Please have it checked. One of my babies had an abscess and it was nasty. Just in case. Better safe than sorry!

Actaully it shrunk alot after putting hydrogen peroxid and vit E oil on it....almost half the size.
will see the vet if it gets bad again ..thanks.
