I will test him in the morning and I'm not even going near 2u. Is there a rule of thumb for what I should give him tomorrow . I'm following your lead as to what to do or give. If he's again under 200 do I even give him anything?
Please no worries I know you acting in Dashers best interest...thank you so much.

this is what I posted on the previous page. It got kind of buried in the middle of a bunch of posts:

I found this dosing advice Jill gave you after your run the other night. It still seems like a good plan for tomorrow, doesn't it? But I do agree that you should test again before then. Sometimes numbers wobble up and down for a while.

continued from above...

i'd test again right before you go to bed tonight. post the number if he continues to drop. if not, get a good night's sleep and start over in the morning at 1u BID if he's over 200. if he's less than 200, post the number and ask for help.

just my thoughts...
so she is suggesting 1u BID if over 200, if under 200 post for advice. Sound good?

That should be fine for 1 unit. That's what we would have suggested for a starting dose if he was coming in brand new. Are you able to test today? I would grab a test in about 3 hours just so you can be sure he is cruising along safely versus dropping like a rock.

I've been following Dasher, Robin, and as a fellow newbie, I want to wish him and you all the best. Here's hoping for OTJ for both our kitties!

Nice start to the day for Dasher, Robin. Hopefully reducing the dose is going to be less nerve-wracking for you. It's much less stressful to not be fighting low numbers when you're new to all of this. :-D

I was following along yesterday, but refrained from posting while it was necessary for you to focus on preventing Silver Dasher from dropping too low. I like to hold off on posting during a low number event because I don't want to cause the caregiver to become distracted.
Just wanted to stop by to say how well you did! Nice work, Robin!

ETA: oops! TY for the correction KittyMom777!

Juliet, feel free to start a new thread on Silver if you'd like help or want someone to take a look at Silver's spreadsheet!

Just asking Robin a question related to this thread no need to jump down my throat.

Dashers at 113 +12, do I give him his 1u tonight with these numbers? He's due for a feeding so it will go up, I don't know if it's good for it to go so high for the AMPS number.

I think I read that the no shot number was 8.3? (150). A higher number is safer than too low as you saw last night but wait for someone else to jump in. I'd start a new thread and mark it 911 to get immediate response on this one.

I wouldn't give insulin yet at that number. Can you delay 20-30 minutes, without feeding, and test again?
