curious on dosing

I know each cat is different but I am curious what dose you normally give and how often you give your cat insulin? I am following the vet orders but just curious how high the dose could possibly end up being. We are only two weeks in and only one unit in AM and one unit in PM. Thanks

The normal starting dose of most insulins is 1 unit at 12 hour intervals. Many cats will end up on 2 to 3 units eventually but some will end up on higher doses. It's individual to the cat.

The first time my cat was on insulin she went up to 3 units before the dose came back down and she went into remission for a year. This time around we are almost at 8.... But that is not the norm. Most cats stay needing under 3-4.
