... Taken into account when a dose reduction is approached?

For example: If Blackie gives excellent #s for 7 days straight, and periodically I'll test her at +1 (I don't hardly ever because I KNOW she'll spike with food), would a reduction count for or against that spike?

Would the spiked # also need to be in the healing range to warrant a reduction?

I've never thought about it until now.
 
Food spikes are not a factor. In fact no single number is a factor. With Lantus, the consideration is where the nadir falls and if that number signals a dose reduction or if a cat is spending the majority of time in normal numbers.
