CRF questions and Pumpkin question

Hello
I am so sorry to not have gotten back on Cessan.
Cessan no longer complains about the large size 18 needles since I changed
To lactated ringers. She still takes 2 of us to do the subq fluids. Tanya's group suggested she get 50 cc's a day. I can't tell if she is dehydrated and the vet had trouble so how could I? Nothing sticks up when pinched. I can't find a ball of fluid when I check right after the sub q's or later. She seems ok and actually seems better when she gets them. The 2 times I skipped a day she was more listless.
She is on 1/8 tsp of Aluminum Hydroxide Gel Powder 3 times in 24 hours.
Can I just keep giving this forever as long as she is not on diet food? I do not plan on trying to change her from her good diabetic foods. She hates
Diet food and won't eat it. I won't syringe feed her foods as a forever solution. She fights like a tiger no matter how ill she is.
So I need to know about the powder.

Also her always dry hard little stools got worse with the onset of crf and I
Again tried canned pumpkin and it actually was accepted this time. In the past she just refused to eat whenever it was mixed in. Her stools are a bit better and I don't want to go back to her hurting. None of the things that are suggested here or on Tanya's site are available here. Pumpkin is not available here either. I had an American friend who had cases of pumpkin sent along with her belongs when she moved to Norway give me the last few cans she had. I have 3 left.
Would carrots work? Oh squash is not available her either. Slippery Elm is not available and now is being said that it causes kidney stones so I wouldn't want than anyway.

Thank you for checking this cry for help. Hugs Bonnie and Cessan

I can't answer the CRF questions.

I found a site that appears to ship to Sweden, and that has Miralax. Here. I can't really see anything on the US page about international shipping, but perhaps you are multi-lingual and can check it out.

If you can't find anything, please send me a PM. I am sure I can figure a way to ship some to you.

Venita

Witn had CRF and I would mix Miralax in her food every other day. That seemed to help keep her stools softer and also doesn't affect the BG readings

Thank you for the Miralax info. It was so very sweet of Venita to offer assistance in obtaining it. But when I see the price I know that I cannot afford it. 17 years ago getting a cat and paying bills was not a problem. We didn't know that diabetes, heart attacks, lung problems from some unknown source etc would put my hubby on early pension and way way less money than his normal pension would have been if he could have worked.
I have been googling and googling and I found several places that said pureed carrots worked as good as pumpkin and had been considered good for CRF. Maybe it isn't anymore but at least it can't hurt my girl. Maybe it would help. I will use the pumpkin that is open and try the carrots and see what happens. I will let people know here too. I found several places that suggested winter squash but that is not available here in any store within a 2 hour drive radius from our house at least.
A European ban on most herbs will come the end of April and if that works here in Europe it will go to the USA. There are petitions to sign to stop the EU but over 50,000 signatures are needed before the end of April. Just Google EU bans herbs and the petitions are listed in the articles I read.
I will wait on the answer to my use of the powdered binder and it's use. Thank you to both of you for your answers.
Hugs Bonnie and Cessie who is wrapped in a doubled blanket sound asleep in my arms. -20C outside and sadly 9C in the house. About 38F. We know the use of layering clothing and typing with gloves on. Have extra blankets on the bed tonight.

Can you get swede (rutabaga)? Boiled and mashed I think would work. Nutritional information is similar to pumpkin. I have also heard of using pureed green beans.
